The Bookish Tag.

Happy Saturday, friends! Faith @ I Like That tagged me for the Bookish Tag, and since I hadn't did a tag here in ages, I thought it would do this today. :D (No, this is totally not a get-out-of-jail-free-post because Faith didn't have anything planned for today. Of course not.)

The Bookish Tag Rules:
-You must be honest.
-You must answer every question.
-You must tag at least 4 people.

1 ~ What book has been on your shelf the longest?
Probably some of the American Girl series (I think Addy and Molly are my oldest) or Escape by Mona Dunckel and Peanut Butter Friends in a Chop SUey World by Deb Brammer. Those last two were reading for like...second grade, maybe?

2 ~ What is your current read, your last read, and the book you'll read next?
I'm currently reading Millie's Grand Adventure by Martha Finley (book 6). I just finished reading Millie's Steadfast Love (book 5) last night, and the next book I'll read will be Millie's Reluctant Sacrifice (book 7).

3 ~ What book did everyone like, but you hated?
Well, I wouldn't say I *hated* it, but I didn't love The Hobbit...and nearly everyone does. XP

4 ~ What book do you keep telling yourself you'll read, but you probably won't?
Probably a classic. I have super nice copies of Heidi and A Little Princess, and I haven't read either of them. :P

5 ~ What book are you saving for retirement?
*has never really thought about that* I don't know...something like... Maybe Les Miserables or Moby-Dick or something.

6 ~ Last page: read it first, or wait 'til the end?
*coughs* Um, well... *coughs again* I wouldn't say I read it first, but I have been known to look ahead in books... *hides*

7 ~ Acknowledgement: waste of paper and ink, or interesting aside?
Um, very interesting! I'm a writer, y'all. The acknowledgments are important. I love reading the acknowledgments of books I've beta-read, or other indie-published books, and finding names I recognize in the acknowledgements. ^-^

8 ~ Which book character would you switch places with?
*shrugs* I don't know. I think I'll keep my own life. ;D

9 ~ Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life? (Place, time, person?)
Yup! Most of the books I have that have been given to me by specific people make me think of them, whether friends or family members. :D

10 ~ Name a book that you acquired in an interesting way.
Who was Anne Frank? by Ann Abramson.   and of the stuff they were getting rid of, they were like "take whatever and get rid of the rest." So we gained a couple random kid-books that way. xD

11 ~ Have you ever given a book away for a special reason to a special person?
Not that I can...think of? *wonders if this is a bad thing*

12 ~ Which book has been with you most places?
Probably my Bible. :)

13 ~ Any "required reading" you hated in high school that wasn't so bad later?
*ignores the 'high school' line bc I'm still in high school* Poetry, probably. I hated it when I had to read a ton in 7th/8th grade. But some of it isn't so bad now. ;)

14 ~ Used or brand new?
Brand new for the price of used... What? That's not an option? *whistles innocently*

15 ~ Have you ever read a Dan Brown book?
I don't think so... Wait, is that the guy who... Oh, no, nevermind. I haven't. XD

16 ~ Have you ever seen a movie you liked more than the book?
Uhh... Heidi, perhaps? I haven't read the book (started it several times and couldn't get past like chapter three), but the movie is pretty good.

17 ~ Have you ever read a book that's made you hungry, cookbooks included?
Alllwayyysss cookbooks. Ree Drummond's (The Pioneer Woman, for you FoodNetwork fans) are known for it.

18 ~ Who is the person whose book advice you'll always take?
My dear friend, Rebekah. Our reading preferences are almost scarily similar. ;)

19 ~ Is there a book out of your comfort zone (e.g., outside your usual reading genre) that you ended up loving?
Actually, yes. I started Dare by Tricia Mingerink, the first in a fantastic fantasy series, on a whim and ended up falling in love with the series. They're sooo good!!! :D

I tag...
Rebekah @ RebekahAshleigh
Florid Sword @ The Writer's Song
Libby @ GeoTurtle

Hope y'all have a great week! <3

  1. What a fun tag! :D Ah, I remember reading Moby Dick. I had to read it for school, and I think I read it in two weeks because I thought it had to be read by then. It didn't. :P It's a long one, but I liked it.

Brand new for the price of used... I thought I was the only one like that. :P I don't feel quite as guilty now. ;P

Thanks for tagging me! I can't wait to do it. :D

    1. Isn't it? :D Really? Haha, that's funny. I'm trying to read a classic a month this school year for literature replacement...maybe I'll try that one in Jan. or Feb. ;)

      Haha, nope! xD

Can't wait to see your answers!

  2. What an enjoyable time this tag is! I might have to steal it for my blog, even though I haven't been tagged. :)
I loved the Millie books growing up! I should read them again sometime...
I didn't read a lot of American Girl books... Only one: the Julie Albright one, because the book came with the doll, obviously. :)
    Anyways, I love your answers!

    1. :D Oh, you totally should, Amaris! I *almost* tagged you (I mean, I was as close as about to look up your URL), but I haven't been a follower of your blog long enough to know if you often do tags. So yes! Steal this one. ;D
      They're sooo good! <3
Hehe, I read that one – and acquired it the same way. ;)

      Thank you!

    2. Yes, I think I might. Oh, that's ok! But for the future, I love tags. I did a lot of tags when I first started my blog, because I didn't know what else to post about! But these days I haven't done one in awhile. I might wait a little bit more just to see if someone will tag me. But if they don't, I'll just link back to your blog, if that's ok with you. :D
So you have Julie as well? I got her because I loved her long hair for styling. :)

    3. Okay, awesome! :D Haha, I do/did a lot too, especially on my other blog.
That's perfectly okay with me! Or if you would like for me to add your link to the post, I can do that too. :)
Yep! Hehe, her hair is pretty. I was into the 'hippie' thing for whatever reason when I was 8-12, and that was when I got her. ;)

    4. Ok, I will probably do that. If you want to add my link, I'm fine with that!
The "hippie thing", huh? I feel like all of us went through that at some point. :D I just really liked the hair, and the outfit.
I was never into peace symbols or tie dye stuff tho... ;)

    5. Alright, I added you!
Haha, perhaps. The hair and clothes are great, but yeah, I did the tie-dye and peace signs thing too...like, it monopolized my wardrobe. xD

  3. This is such a fun tag, Faith! I loved reading your answers and thank you so much for tagging me!! I can’t wait to do it! :D
    *smiles because of Millie*
Yes, it does seem like a lot of people like “The Hobbit”, but I’ve never read it. ;) Although I don’t think it’s a book I’d enjoy. ;)
I agree about acknowledgements. They are always fun to look through. =)
Brand new for the price of used. I totally agree! ;D
Aww, Faith you’re so sweet! <3 You’re the person I’ll always take book advice from too. :) Our preferences are almost scarily similar, aren’t they? :)
I’ll hopefully be doing this tag soon! Thanks again!

    1. Isn't it?! :D Longer than most tags too.
      *smiles*
Yeeahhhhh...I don't think you'd really enjoy it that much. ;)
      They are!
      Haha, wouldn't that be nice!
*grins* Yes, same! <3 It's fun to have someone with such similar 'book tastes'. ^_^
I look forward to reading your answers! :D

  4. Haha that was fun to read! I started Les Miserables a couple summers ago and never finished. That's one I definitely want to read ... mostly just so I can say that I read it haha :P

  5. This is the first tag I have ever gotten! Thank's Faith. :D I'll be doing it soon.

I don't know why but I just can't seem to get myself to read the Millie series. Everyone is always raving about it. But I just can't. I love Elsie too much. Is it similar?

    1. I still haven't finished the Millie series! It was pretty long and I liked Kathleen McKenzie books better (I probably spelled that wrong). But the Millie books I didn't find very similar to the Elsie books except that they are supposedly related.
I would say at least give Millie a try. :D

    2. Libby,

      You're so welcome!

I had heard many good things about them, but didn't start the series until earlier this year. I really love them! I haven't read the Elsie books, so I can't answer that, but I hope to read them soon. :)

    3. Amaris,

I LOVE the Kathleen books!! :D I've read those 2 or 3 times.
