Stress vs. Sleep in the Storm

Image
Good morning, friends. :) I forgot to schedule this post last night, and I woke up thinking about it. Now, having only been up about twenty minutes, I'm sitting on my bed to write. And I'm thinking back over the past week. I don't always do this on weekends, but I like to. Reflection can be nice—to see what I've gotten accomplished and remember how God has worked in the past six or seven days. This morning, I'm recalling that this week was kind of crazy. Several days found me stressing over all the things I needed to get done. The to-do list with reminders of homework, editing, blogging, writing. (And reading? I haven't read a book for the pure enjoyment of it in two weeks... O.o) Things going on in our family and church family. The science midterm that I'm still not sure how well I did on was the cause of much of this stress. But even in the busy seasons of life, when we just can't seem to keep up, has God forgotten us? Left us to fend for o...

Pray With You. {Song Lyrics}

Image
This song has really touched me lately, as I've prayed for a few different friends concerning different situations. When we say we'll pray for someone, how seriously as we really? Are our words as true and dear and loving as these lyrics?  Check back next week for some more thoughts on prayer, but for now, enjoy this beautiful song. <3  I know that You got the weight of the world, there on your shoulders I know that you’re feeling your whole life is starting to crumble Wish I had words, that didn't sound cheap Wish I had answers, in times like these But I will stay right here, through the tears you cry And I'll hold you close while you ask "God, why?" It might be the tallest mountain But there is One who can make it move Until the night becomes the day Until He shows the way I will pray with you I know that it's hard to see but still, He's standing here with you And you're not alone, no matter how deep a ...

I Have Been Blessed {Song Lyrics}

Image
When He moves among us, all that He does All of His mercy and all of His love If the pen of the writer could write everyday Even this world could never contain How I have been blessed The warmth in the winter, the flowers in spring Laughter in summer and the changing of leaves Food on my table, a good place to sleep Clothes on my back and shoes on my feet I have been blessed I have been blessed, God's so good to me Precious are His thoughts of you and me No way I could count them, there's not enough time So I'll just thank Him for being so kind God has been good, so good I have been blessed Arms that will raise, a voice that can talk Hands that can touch and legs that can walk Ears that can listen, eyes that can see Oh, I've got to praise Him as long as I breathe I have been blessed A father and mother who nurtured and raised Brothers and sis...

"Mary, Did You Know?" ~ the Story and the Song

Image
This song was sang at church during the Christmas play last week (the 13th). And it really got me to thinking. Did  Mary know? I mean, she knew who He was, but how much of what He would go on to do did she know?  Seeing as how this song was written by my favorite comedian, I decided to share the story behind it. :)  //The Song// Mary, did you know, that your Baby Boy Will one day walk on water? Mary, did you know, that your Baby Boy Will save our sons and daughters? Did you know, that your Baby Boy Has come to make you new? This Child that you delivered,  Will soon deliver you.  Mary, did you know, that your Baby Boy Will give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know, that your Baby Boy Would calm a storm with his hand? Did you know, that your Baby Boy Has walked where angels trod  And when you kiss your little Baby,  You've kissed the face of God?  Oh, Mary, did you know?  Mary, did you know?...

Image
If you do not read my other blog, click  HERE  see what this is all about. :)  It has came to my attention that many of my blogger friends are not familiar with one of my favorite Christmas songs, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". If you are one of them, this is for you. ;)  When looking up the lyrics to this song online, I realized that they're not  exactly  the same as we sing at church. So below is the words to this song from our church hymnal. ;-)  "Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem" Verse one: Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem Shining afar through shadows dim Giving a light for those who long have gone (have gone)  And guiding the wise men on their way Unto the place where Jesus lay Beautiful star of Bethlehem shine on (shine on)  Chorus:  **Oh beautiful star (beautiful, beautiful star) of Bethlehem (star of Bethlehem) Shine upon us until the glory dawn (glory dawn)  Oh Give us thy light to light t...
