Snow // A Poem

Image
Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm sharing a poem that I wrote when we had quite a bit of snow on the ground about...two weeks ago. Goodness, it doesn't seem like that long. :P  My poems aren't 'amazing' by any means, but they're fun to write and I hope you at least enjoy. If you want some really good free verse poetry, I highly recommend  Julia's blog, Twilight to Dawn.   She's a super talented gal. ;)  this snow it tells a story  a story of a fallen world  a story of a sinful people  daily we fail we wrong God we wrong each other  this snow is like that  no longer as pretty as perfect as picturesque  as it was before  it's like this world marred by sin scarred by people's wrongs  but even still through it all there is beauty to be found  for those who know  where to find it  in the One who saved us all by His ama...

A Simple Word ~ A Poem by Amy Lane

Hello everyone! Today I'm pleased to share with you all a beautiful, thought-provoking poem by the talented Amy Lane. :)  A Simple Word A simple word that can change a life,   A simple word that creates strife.   A simple word that is simple not,   A simple word in which countries can get caught.   A simple word of pursuit or retreat,   A simple word able of victory--or defeat.   A simple word that causes people to die,   A simple word that separates without "goodbye".   A simple word, never simple itself,   A simple word that lays around, until taken off a shelf,   Applied to relationships,   And loudly rips   Into provocative pieces, small and large;   Every hardship, struggle, grievance, and charge.   A simple word that has torn,   Many a family--with untouched reasons to mourn.   A simple word, yet, that has united,   Friends and family--as they...

Here it is, and I hope you enjoy. :)  Never forget the price that was paid for our freedom. Yesterday we were singing America, The Beautiful  at church and these words really stuck out to me...  O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved, And mercy more than life!  Who more than self their country loved... That says it all, doesn't it? :')  God, bless the soldier  Who left his homeland for us,  Died to keep us safe.  And hold near the souls  Of those who sacrificed all For our liberty.  Just for our freedom  They willingly gave their lives  On those foreign soils.  Courageously endured,  For the freedom we hold dear.  We owe them greatly.  Today le...
