Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July!

Today is the day America celebrates 239 years of freedom. Wars have been fought and men killed for us. So we can have independence. And are we really grateful? Do we really appreciate our freedom? Everyday do we thank God for the Liberty  to worship Him freely?

If we were truly, 100% honest with ourselves we would have to say no. There are times we don't give a thought to the lives lost. To the men and women who have died so we can live in this free nation.

Oh say, can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there,
Oh, say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave...

These last couple of days I've been listening to the radio quite a bit, hoping to hear some patriotic songs. And I've heard one. One patriotic song! It makes me want to scream, "Hello America! Don't you know what this weekend is? Don't you know what the 4th of July represents? It's not about parties and fireworks, cookouts and hotdogs. It's about freedom, independence, and liberty."

Here's a video I absolutely love. I wanted to share it with y'all. :)

And this is my favorite patriotic song (besides the national anthem) God Bless America by Lee Greenwood.

Faith, Family, Freedom, then Fireworks. In that order. :-)

I'm proud to be an American. God Bless this wonderful country.
