Rain // A Poem

Happy Wednesday, readers! Pardon the absence of a post last weekend... I was gone on a youth trip and forgot to schedule something ahead of time. ;)

I have another poem today. Do you enjoy seeing poems on Chosen Vessels? Should I continue sporadically with them or stop throwing these cringe-worthy writings y'all's way?

sitting on the porch
rain pouring down
it patters on the roofs

ringing against the metal
making pelts on the road
soaking the grass

the dampness encompasses me
as the storm grows
stronger
louder
increasing in fury
but I don't fear it

there's a special peace in the rain

with rain droplets on leaves
and trickles in gutters
it enters a dirty world
but leaves it different
clean
refreshed
renewed
revived

the same effect Christ has
when He enters our hearts
our dirty hearts
sin-sick lives
made clean
whole
perfected
in His love and grace

P.S. I recently found out that a friend of mine's mom is battling breast cancer. She is a blogger, and some if not all of you are probably familiar with their names, but the family doesn't wish to have that information disclosed at this time. God knows who they are, and I know your prayers would be appreciated. <3

  1. That's a cool poem! I love how you always take the feelings and emotions of a moment and put them into staggered words that describe it exactly. Thank you for that.

If you keep posting them, I'll keep reading them. :)
