Today, September 11, 2015, marks fourteen years since 9/11. The day terrorist high jacked four planes. Two of those crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, another crashed into the Pentagon. The destination of the fourth was the White House when some of the passengers overpowered the terrorists and it crashed in Pennsylvania. May we never forget... What does that date mean to you?  Today, September 2, 2015, is the seventieth anniversary of the end of World War II. Though the Japanese had ceased fighting on August 15th, the official surrender didn't come until nearly a month later. It was signed aboard the battleship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, Japan.       Signing of the surrender  September 2nd and August 15 both may be known as V-J day, Victory in Japan.  A young sailor celebrating  Two sailors & a newspaper declaring peace in the world  While researching WWII, and more specifically the end of the war, I came across this well-known photo and the many different stories behind it.    I read that the nurse was the sailor's girlfriend.  I read that everyone was so happy because the war was over, and the nurse was walking by when the sailor grabbed her and kissed her.  Amongst all the stories...

Vermont Trip ~ Day 1

Hello everyone! I haven't posted here in a terribly long time. Sorry! :) Things have been busy, but now they've settle back down to normal. ;) I'm going to be doing a daily account of what we did on the trip. I have lots  of pictures too! Day • 1 ~ Friday, August 7th We met up with the group, had prayer and left about 6:45 AM. We were on the road all day. These pictures were taken (out the van window) when we were near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.  A barn A corn field That's a water tower, I think. If you look closely, you'll notice it says Chambersburg on it. :) More corn! And this last one, of a barn and silo, was taken in Walnut Bottom, Pennsylvania.  Despite a few difficulties while finding the place we were to stay, like getting lost...First the GPS sent us into a Pepsi-Cola distribution center, where the man at the gate flat-out refused to let us go in to turn around. Rose of Sharon

It has been far to long since I posted here, and I apoligize. :) I'm not back home yet, but we're on our way and we'll get home tomorrow. This week has been awesome!   I'll never forget this trip, the people I've met, or the experiences. I've been blessed. ;D I'll be doing several posts on all that soon, but for now a verse and some pictures of the Rose of Sharon in our yard.  "I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the valleys." - Song of Solomon 2:1

God's Beautiful Creation

Good day to everyone! :)  So the other evening (Thursday, I think), it rained and a fterwards the flowers in the yard (with drops of rain on them, none the less!) were so absolutely gorgeous that I had  to take a few pictures....Okay, okay, so I took alot  of pictures. But how could I resist? God made this beautiful creation and I think He wants us to enjoy it and appreciate it! ;)  The Rose of Sharon in our front yard.  Rose of Sharon blossoms Daisy Daisies Ferns More ferns (you can see my foot in this one, if you know where to look...hehe.)  Lily, I think... ;)  Purple flower that I don't know the name of.  Phlox among the hostas.  Beautiful phlox Phlox Yellow flowers!  Just so y'all know, I'm going camping this week (Sunday-Saturday) with friends and I won't be able to respond to comments or anything until we get back. :)  Until next week!  -Faith =)
