Afraid of Being Broken // A Poem

broken

so His light can shine through our cracks
broken
so His love can spill out from within

broken
so we're continually in need of being filled with His Spirit

I want to pray
for Him to break me
if it would bring Him glory

I want to pray
for Him to send pain my way
if it would point someone to His eternal kingdom

I want to pray
for Him to give me suffering and trials
if it be His will

but I'm afraid
I fear
the pain
the hurt
the suffering
I can't
I can't do it

I want to be broken
broken for Christ
broken so I need Him more
but it hurts
I'm afraid
I shouldn't be afraid
I should trust
trust Him
trust His goodness

but still
I don't
I hold back
I watch others
I want the all-or-none relationship they have
with Him

my Savior
my King
my Kinsman Redeemer

He's just as much in my soul
as He is in theirs
in the hearts of 'better' believers

so why should I fear
what man may do unto me?
greater is He that is in me
than he that is in the world...

Easter post coming soon...

  4. HI Faith! That poem reminds me of one I wrote titled "Teach Me to Weep." I actually need someone to read it and give me suggestions on how to perfect it. Would you be willing to do that for me? I'll email it to you when you accept. Thank you!

    2. You don't have a contacts me widget. I posted it on my blog, so if you go to geoturtle.com the first post is that poem. It needs a lot of work, so anything helps. Thanks! I really appreciate it.
